What's Happening at the Temple

What Happened to the Front Entrance?

The Temple sustained damage to the front entrance overhang recently when a vehicle was driven into one of the support posts. The vehicle also struck a cement base to one of the overhead lighting fixtures in the parking lot.  The members of the Temple's Facilities Use Committee assessed the situation and in conjunction with input from the Temple Executive Committee determined that the quickest and most cost effective way to effectuate repairs was to involve a general contractor.

Given the scope of the work and the need for various contacting disciplines in the indicated repairs, we are working with Delventhal General Contractors to repair the damage. As well, we are cooperating with the Temple's insurance in pursuing payment from the vehicle driver's insurance to pay for the damages.  It appears that all damage will be covered by insurance payments.

The extent of the damage has been difficult to assess and will only fully be known once the overhang is disassembled and a more close inspection of internal structural damage is complete. The overhang is tied into the building beyond the entry doors and therefore the damage is anticipated to extend into the entry of the building itself.   We are working to have the damage repaired in the most cost effective and complete manner while also having this completed as quickly as possible. Now that issues have been resolved with the insurance assessments and estimates and we have selected a contractor the repairs should be completed in the next few weeks.

Thank you for your understanding in dealing with any inconvenience that may have resulted from the necessitated use of the West entrance of the building during this time of assessment and repair.
