Derek Matthew Reiner was called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Temple Shomer Emunim. Derek is a 7th grader at McCord Junior High School where he has played football and currently runs track.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys hanging out with friends, playing baseball and also playing basketball. He particularly loves playing hide and seek with his dog, Taffy! Derek is the son of Debbie & Matt Reiner and the brother of Amy & Brad Reiner. His grandparents are Joe Shugarman and Joe & Carolyn Reiner

Ruthie Chaban will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Temple Shomer Emunim. Ruthie is the daughter of Ross Chaban and the late Marcy Chaban. She is the younger sister of Rosemary.
Ruthie is going to be a seventh grader at McCord Junior High School. She enjoys singing, dancing, and volleyball as well as hanging out with friends and family.

Sam Light, son of Neil & Ruthy, will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah at Temple Shomer Emunim on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Sam is a very interesting and multi-faceted young man. He loves are – ceramics, painting, glassblowing, metalsmithing and even graffiti! He says he culd not live without music. He likes Rock, some Rap and Hip-Hop, and is open to new types of music like Dubstep and Electronica.
Sam is a drummer in the Ottawa Hills Junior High Jazz Band, Pep Band and Concert Band. He enjoys cooking and watching cooking shows. Last but not least, he loves sports, especially baseball; his favorite team is the Cleveland Indians – he hopes to be the next C.C. Sabathia!

Brittany Leah Schecht, daughter of Howard & Marla, sister of Sami and Jessie, and granddaughter of Gary and Marilyn Reinstein (and Sheila and Barry Schecht of Warren) will be celebrating her bat mitzvah on Saturday, August 23, 2008.
Brittany will be attending Ottawa Hills Junior High beginning 7th grade in the fall. Brittany enjoys many activities including field hockey, cheerleading, dance, reading, basketball, fast pitch,shopping, tennis, IMing, texting and chilling with her family and friends! She is looking forward to having all her family and friends together to celebrate with her. Brittany would like to thank Cantor Roher and Rabbi Weinstein for their tutoring.
